Final Song

This will be our last song for this season. We guys are taking an indefinite break from music as we have decided to devote more time to higher education!!

We started a song in Thodi but couldnt stick to the same raaga and changed it to include traces of Sindhu Bhairavi and Hindholam. Our sincere apologies if we have not done justice to these raagas!!

Our lyricist Rangan started writing the lyrics to this song (it goes "Vettaiyaduthey Vizhigal rendum Vettaiyaduthey") but unfortunately we couldn finish the work. Currently this song has the main melody track hum by Shyam. A big thanks to Ashok for improvising so much on the starting and interlude aalap.

This is the first time we tried recording some live accoustic guitar and accoustic percussion like mridangam and finger cymbals :) please do let us know how they sound. Accoustic guitar is by Sriam Ragunathan and Mridangam is by Harish Ramanathan. Many thanks to Harish and Sriram for taking the time off to work with us :)
Last but not the least, we should thank Arul Murugan for the violin parts. One of the most talanted musicians we have come across (the violin pieces kind of lifts the song up in our opinion).

So this should be our last song in quite a while. A big thanks to the blog world for listening to our songs and all those encouraging words. It really makes us work harder.

Credits
Vocals : Starting Alap By Ashok .. Melody by Shyam
Violin: Arul Murugan
Guitar:Sriram Ragunathan
Mridangam: Harish Ramanathan
Music: Shyam Prasan Praveen
Song recorded and mixed at TSJ STUDIO, Chennai.

So long!! Thanks once again. We hope to be back in action sometime sooner than we expect as of right now!!

Your intro was hallmark thodi-sh. Crisp note bearing aalaaps, had a light music touch to it which actually is good since I suppose you intended on a midway between classical-light.

Your transitions were very well done. Thodi combined with the rhythm pattern somehow reminded me of Thaayae yashoda from the sound track "Morning Raaga" (-; Sindhu bhairavi piece was amazing- velvetty and smooth.

Violin parts were fabulously done. Kudos to Arul!!

Extremely good. The Thodi was very good in the begenning in the voice.later as u said had tinges of sindhu bhairavi...in the "ga".
Your absence is a unfillable gap for music lovers on the blog and elsewhare. Do not stop creating...and never again...say that we would like to take a break from music...a musician...can never take a break..as long as his atma is alive...u may take a break from blogging or posting...but please..please..keep the fire of creation withinn u whereever u all are.
God bless you and hope that we meet some day!
I WILL MISS YOUR MUSIC!

The few buts
1) This is the comment i dint want to add...the Male singers have not been on the dart..The male singers you have used creates a kinda feeling as if they are trying too hard and trying too much to sing etc..in otherwords the flamboyance is missing..while in female its just excellent (great work anusha!!)

2) Due to the above...the effect it creates is a large sudden difference to the song which kinda makes uncomfortable...please do concentrate more on male voice...y

I saw the same kind of thing in himesh reshammya's "ashiq banaya" song in which shreya goshal comes and sings suddenly in a sarnam...while himesh's voice was average..

Wow.

That was amazing. I'm not an expert on carnatic, so I can't give constructive comments like the others, but I was blown away by this. It's really comparable to professional tracks; Morning Raaga's thaaye yashoda and Maargali Thangalallava come to mind. Truly amazing work, hats off.

Friends,
I have heard all of your songs, and undoubtedly, this is the best you have done till now. I dont know how many times I have heard it.. The orchestration is simply amazing - especially mrudangam and violin.. and the alaap also. I feel the alaap is taking the song to its different levels.
BUT I have to ask you one thing. Why are you not making it complete? I have been waiting for a long time to hear the complete version. So friends, please complete that song. Its my request.
YOU PEOPLE ARE THE FUTURE FACES OF INDIAN MUSIC.

Nice vocals by Ashok, and good music. However, I feel the electronic synthesis could have been better to accompany the voice. Shyam's voice seems to tremble towards the mid and the end. That could use some improvement.

Good music overall.
