Ragasiyam mistaken to be Varanam Ayiram Song
Not too sure who did this, but someone has mistaken our Ragasiyam song as one from Harris Jayaraj's Varanam Ayiram song. We found this really funny. I'm sure regular visitors of this blog would have found it funny too! The uploaders of the Youtube version have edited the song a little (right towards the end) and also have created a slide show with some stills from the movie and have posted it on youtubue. We noticed it just today morning, thanks to Sudharshan who informed us about this. Before we could write about this on our blog the Ragasiyam youtube link some tamil sites like www.techsatish.com have already posted the youtube links on their website. Again we are not sure who posted this on Youtube and have no clue how they even associated this song with Varnam Aaiyram movie. We just wanted to make it clear that its NOT us who did this.
Just to clarify. This video is sure not posted by us or anyone we know. Sure we did not flick Ragasiyam Song from Harris Jeyaraj as you guys all know that Ragasiyam song was posted in our website long time back (the song itself is about a couple of years old). Harris Jayaraj is a very very good friend, and well wisher, of ours and has infact heard Ragasiyam song a long time back. We wonder if he even remembers it now. But we are quite sure if he comes across this youtube link he will recognize our song, We don't want him to mistake us for doing this. We are huge fans of his work and have the utmost respect for other composers' creative abilities and never had or have intentions of using others' work.
We are in the process of contacting the uploader to request them to remove the video from Youtube.

@kanna Yeah we didn't expect music india online to upload our song. We had the same opinion about them... We mailed them about this issue and requested them to remove our song but they still haven't got back to us. :(

While it is a very unusual situation, I think what has happened is a testament to your team's amazing quality and professionalism which blew me away the first time I heard Azhage Azhage on blogswara, and subsequently when I heard Ragasiyam, Sugamai, the thodi track with no lyrics, and especially the great sounding scratch versions you rejected when working on Azhage. You guys have some great talent, and the no.2 ranking on MIO is proof of that (imo, 'ulaga nayagan' doesn't deserve to beat you, hehe).
Hoping to hear more beautiful music tracks from you guys, start experimenting with different styles, I think u guys have more than enough stuff in you to cut an album or something soon. Keep up the great music!
btw any idea who did the other alleged Vaaranam Aayiram song (Meela Mudiyaamal)? While some parts are a bit unprofessional, the song sounds really good overall. Quite clearly not harris, I think, but I'd love to listen to more from the actual composer. Any clues?

I heard the song Ragasiyam through musicindiaonline.com. I had no idea about this until I read the comments on youtube. You should ask MIO to remove the song from the movie list. Although it could be possible that Harris Jayaraj has copied you.
And I also agree with Kanna that the song Meela Mudiyaamal is probably not Harris' work.

@anonymous, thanks for listening. Anusha, who sang the song, does have a very sweet tone to her voice. She has won numerous awards for her singing, and is a regular performer during the December Kutcheri Season in Chennai.
@aishu, We have contacted MIO but have not got any response to our email. We have no clue what is going on! We are however 110% sure that Harris Jayaraj has nothing to do with this. He is a very good friend and well wisher. We infact spoke to him about this issue and as always, he was very supportive of us and our work. Though it sounds very flattering, there is no question of HJ copying our work :)
@ Kanna, Meela Mudiyaamal doesn't seem to be HJ's work either. We have no idea who composed that tune. Thanks again for your support. We'll do our best to come up with different styles.

Someone said the female voice was close to harini...that was just sooo true...I first thought it was harini who sang this song....and the male voice was so much like hari haran...

as many have said ragasiyam is one awesong song that i'm continuously listening to in the recent days. in fact i had my doubts about the song being that of Harris' after listening to the other one - meela mudiyamal in youtube which is quite bad!
infact i'm recommending this song to all my friends and they too have liked it a lot.

Check out padithal kaathal song. It is just 2.15 mins song, in which almost 40 seconds is direct lift from Ragasiyam song.

but now after knowing he copies a lot i didn like him et all. ...infact the same thing was done in the movie dhaam dhoom ...he copied the BG from Bourne Identity, supremacy n Ultimatum .... and used it in the chase scenes... I can't stress enough about how big of a talent you've got. That was one of the catchiest songs I've ever heard! It extracts the perfect emotion for a love song. And I'm a singer myself, the voices of Anusha and Shyam was perfect to bring out the essence of the song.

to say de truth, de song is a beauty.. but de only thing i found was tht its very short.. de beat after de intro is awesome.. i thot der wud be a second stanza..
